Questions To Ask Yourself Before Going Freelance There are lots of different reasons why you might want to go Freelance. Whether its due to your busy lifestyle, your location or whether you are setting off on your travels. Like any job, there are a number of pros and cons that you need to consider before you take the leap. Although working for yourself does seem pretty exciting, its So, before you make any decisions that you may learn to regret ask yourself the following questions: Have you built a client base? Before you begin your freelancing adventure, its important that you make connections with relevant people in your field. You will be in charge of marketing yourself, finding clients and networking so its important that you have a couple of clients on board or at least interested before you begin. Starting with no clients and no work to show can be extremely hard. Its better to start off with a variety of customer testimonials and projects to show to potential customers. This way, you can show off your skills through your existing work rather than trying to blag it. Are you organised? Are you covered financially?   With freelancing, its important to consider that some months will be better than others in terms of money and workload. So, when you start off on your freelancing career its important that you have a financial cushion  to protect you for the first few months. Sometimes business can be slow and its important to acknowledge that it may take longer than you expect to completely kick start your freelancing career. To save yourself the unwanted stress of lending money or other issues, only start when you know you have enough savings to live off for the coming months. Where will you work and who with?   As a freelancer, you will need to find a suitable workspace. A space that isnt too distracting and allows you to get on with your work as normal. You need to ensure that you have a strong and reliable wifi connection and phone signal. Just like any other job, your clients need to be able to reach you with ease throughout the day. If you are going to work somewhere public Is it too noisy? Can you rely on the wifi connection there? Is it somewhere professional in case you receive a call? On the other hand, if you choose to work at home Do you have anywhere to work at your house, such as a study or a desk in your room? If you are going to work in a communal area, Is there going to be people their all the time?  You need to ensure that you wont be distracted
